Metropolitan Theatre, Morgantown, WV: Preservation research and historic restoration of plaster and painted decoration

John Canning & Co. was selected as a specialty contractor for the Metropolitan Theatre and conducted historic finish exposures and a paint analysis. John Canning & Co. was also responsible for all decorative painting, gilding, and fabric panel installation. The Classical Revival theater was designed by Charles W. Bates and completed in 1924. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
