Governor’s Mansion, Charleston, WV: Decorative treatments and commissioned artwork in the Drawing Room and State Dining Room

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]John Canning & Co. was hired on separate occasions to embellish the existing treatments in the Drawing room and in the Governor’s Mansion. Canning worked closely with Governor Manchin and First Lady Gale Manchin, along with interior designer Pat Bibbee. John Canning & Co. also designed a new series of murals for the State Dinning room, which are based on significant events in the State’s history, important locations, buildings, and unique landscapes with in the State. Additionally, Canning provided new “period” decorative treatments for Library including trompe l’oeil, striping, gilding, and glazing.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]Location: Charleston, WV
