Hulihe’e Palace, Kailua-Kona, HI: Plaster restoration of the National Historic Landmark

John Canning & Co. was selected to perform plaster restoration at the historic Hulihe’e Palace. The Palace, which was the former vacation home of Hawaiian royalty, is completely constructed out of lava rock. The Palace, which is now converted to a cultural museum, was severely damaged by an earth quake in 2006. This caused significant structural damage and cracking in the lava rock.
