John Canning & Co. was commisioned to produce a set of murals that depicted everyday life in colonial America for an eighteenth-century house.

PROJECT DETAILS

Our studio was commissioned to produce a set of murals for three walls in the dining room of an eighteenth-century house.  Executed in the style of French artist Jean Antoine Watteau, the scenes depict everyday life in colonial America, including Greenwich Harbor and Colonial Williamsburg. Some personalized touches were included, e.g. the owners’ beloved pet dogs served as models for the dogs in the mural series.
