Studying architects’ original specifications for wood finishes has helped us to restore the woodwork in historic buildings across the nation. We perform in situ testing to determine the most effective yet least invasive treatments to restore the original appearance of historic wood.

We have particular expertise in Dutchman repairs, carving, and the disassembly and reassembly of both historic woodwork and furniture. As with our other restorative services, wood restoration requires the depth of expertise and respect for historic integrity for which Canning has become so well-known.
